Tips & Advice
The most important tips for a stay in Thailand on ' n row are:
Before you go to thailand :
Medical precaution measures
For Thailand a DTP (Dyphterie, tetanus, infantile paralysis) is recommended ‐ vaccination, but these are not required.
Thailand is mainly free of malaria, but good anti mosquito spreads remain recommended. Verify with your general practitioner or local GGD, also concerning the last state of the art around bird influenza and dengue
Passport/visa
If you have a Dutch passport and no longer then 30 days in Thailand , you do not need a visa. YOU get at arrival in Bangkok automatic ' Tourist visas On Arrival' stamped for maximum 30 days in your passport.
When you remain longer than 30 days (a couple of hours or 1 day), then a 60 days Tourist visum' is necessary, to obtain at the Thai consulate in Amsterdam or the Thai embassy in The Hague.
In all cases applies: your passport must be 6 months valid the day of departure from Thailand!
This do not applies only dutch tourists but all tourists.
Airplanetickets, hotels, tours and excursions bookings:
.
Verify the prices of airplanetickets
Loose airplanetickets with several airline companies are possible to buy at several touroperators and travel organisations. It pays attention to check if it a ' nun ‐ stop' ‐ flight concerns or not (without stop, directly from Amsterdam to Bangkok). " Direct flight" is not frequently the same as " nun ‐ stop". Also pay good attention if you need a 1 ‐ month ticket or that you need a 3 ‐ month ticket (needed when you stay longer than 30 days) ‐ it makes a big difference in the price.
Booking by Internet in Thailand is normally much cheaper!
If you choose for an inclusive tour or you choose for loose airplanetickets with hotels, tours and excursions, generally if you follow our recommendations it is much cheaper. That can run up to hundreds Euro' s by holiday!
